A Rabid Coyote Shot and Killed by Police in Montgomery County, Maryland
A coyote was shot and killed by police in Montgomery County, Maryland, after it attacked two women in separate incidents. The coyote tested positive for rabies, causing health officials to urge anyone who had contact with the animal to seek medical attention.
The first attack occurred in Ashton, as a woman was walking her dog when the coyote pounced. The second attack took place in Burtonsville, where another woman managed to fight off the aggressive animal and even stabbed it before police arrived.
