Amazon Music is revolutionizing the way users create playlists with the introduction of Maestro, a new generative AI-powered feature. Currently in beta for a select number of users in the US on both iOS and Android devices, Maestro allows music lovers to access customized playlists based on a variety of inputs including sounds, activities, emotions, and even emojis.
To use Maestro, users simply need to update their Amazon Music app to the latest version and tap the plus button to create a new playlist. From there, they can input natural language prompts to generate a personalized playlist. Some examples of prompts include playlists for the robot emoji, crying and eating, making a baby a genius, Myspace era hip-hop, and even music for grandparents making out.
While Maestro is designed to handle a wide range of prompts, it is still in beta and may not always get things right immediately. However, safeguards are in place to prevent offensive language and inappropriate prompts. Amazon plans to expand Maestro to more users over time, with Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers able to instantly listen to and save Maestro playlists, while Prime members and free tier users can listen to 30-second previews before saving.
With Maestro, Amazon Music is providing a new and innovative way for users to discover and enjoy music tailored to their unique preferences. Stay tuned as Maestro continues to evolve and become available to a wider audience in the near future.
