Former spokesperson for Donald Trump, Hope Hicks, is set to testify in his hush money trial in New York later this month. Hicks met with the Manhattan district attorney’s office in March 2023, just before Trump was indicted for falsifying business records in connection to a hush payment.
Trump has vehemently denied all charges and pleaded not guilty. However, prosecutors are now asking the judge to clarify a limited gag order after Trump launched attacks on the judge’s daughter. Defense attorneys are arguing that Trump should be allowed to continue his attacks due to the judge’s daughter’s political consulting work for Democratic causes. The defense is also seeking permission to file a motion requesting the judge to recuse himself from the trial.
Judge Merchan’s gag order currently only covers certain individuals but not the judge and his family. Trump originally pleaded not guilty last April to a 34-count indictment related to a hush money payment made to adult film star, Stormy Daniels, before the 2016 election.
Jury selection for the trial is scheduled to begin on April 15 in New York City. The case has garnered significant attention due to Trump’s high-profile status and the controversial nature of the charges. As the trial approaches, all eyes are on the courtroom as the legal drama unfolds. Stay tuned to Road Rug Cars for updates on this developing story.
