Title: Third Arrest Made in Connection with NYC Day Care Drug Operation that Led to Child’s Death
Subtitle: Alleged drug distributor apprehended as investigation reveals shocking details
New York City – A significant development has emerged in the harrowing case of a drug operation being run out of a day care facility, resulting in the tragic death of a 1-year-old boy and the hospitalization of three other children. Authorities announced the arrest of a third individual, identified as Renny Antonio Parra Paredes, who has been charged with conspiracy to distribute narcotics.
The arrests are directly linked to the death of little Nicholas Dominici, who tragically lost his life due to exposure to fentanyl while in the supposed safety of his day care. Disturbingly, investigators discovered a kilo of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia cleverly concealed in the play area of the facility. Additionally, a hidden trap floor containing further drugs and narcotics was also found.
The first two individuals to be apprehended in this shocking case were Grei Mendez, the owner of the day care, and her tenant, Carlisto Acevedo Brito. Both face a battery of charges including murder, as they are accused of running the drug operation in the very same facility designed to protect children.
Mendez, in a stunning claim, asserts her lack of knowledge regarding the drugs being stored at the day care by Brito, who had rented a room from her. Further investigations have revealed that Mendez’s husband is currently on the run and is wanted for questioning. Surveillance footage captured him hastily fleeing the facility while carrying two trash bags, igniting speculation about his participation in the operation.
The ongoing investigation has revealed that Brito was allegedly in contact with Paredes, indicating their involvement in a joint drug operation. Suspicion surrounding Paredes increased as authorities discovered he made frequent visits to the day care in the lead-up to the children’s poisoning. Upon questioning, Paredes reportedly lied about his visits and his whereabouts.
Authorities found a cache of drug-making materials in the apartment where Paredes was residing with his aunt. Among these materials was a stamp bearing the same identification as the one found on the drug envelopes recovered from the day care, further implicating Paredes in the distribution of narcotics.
The Bronx District Attorney’s Office has formally charged Mendez and Brito with various offenses such as murder and manslaughter; however, Paredes is currently not facing charges from the same office. Federal authorities have vowed to bring all individuals involved in this horrific crime to justice.
The attorney representing Paredes has yet to release any statements regarding the case.
As this case continues to unfold, the nation waits anxiously for answers and hopes that justice will ultimately be served, and the memory of little Nicholas Dominici will never be forgotten.
