The Minnesota Vikings made headlines on Day 2 of the NFL draft by not making any selections. Despite not adding any new talent to their roster on the second day, the Vikings still received an overall grade of A- for their first-round picks.
On Day 1, the Vikings made two picks but did not have any selections on Day 2. They traded their second-round pick to Houston and then packaged that pick to move up to No. 17 for Dallas Turner. Additionally, they sent their third-round pick to Detroit in exchange for Pro Bowler T.J. Hockenson.
While the additions of Hockenson and Turner bring talent to the Vikings, it came at the cost of sacrificing future draft pick value through various trades. The team will now shift their focus to addressing needs on both sides of the line with their remaining Day 3 selections.
Despite trading away valuable draft picks, the Vikings are confident in the potential of their new acquisitions and believe they will help strengthen their roster for the upcoming season. Fans will have to wait and see how these moves pan out as the team continues to make moves in the later rounds of the draft.
